Default "Dirty Jobs" show cancelled...Hmmmm, wonder if it's...."

The show "Dirty Jobs" has been cancelled. Wonder if it's due to Mike Rowe, the host if you haven't seen the show, vocally supporting Romney?

    No, that doesn't happen.

Pity, it was a good show.

Perhaps they just ran out of dirty things for him to do. Or perhaps he got tired of doing yucky things. Doubt that it was because of his political leanings.

And speculating on the "real" reason for the cancellation seems pretty pointless to me if it isn't published somewhere. Unless you're looking to rile everyone up with another political discussion.

Or, gosh, ratings dropped because people got tired of watching it. Honey Boo Boo is more entertaining than Mike Rowe getting dirty. It really isn't all about politics and the Radical Liberal Media Takeover....

He's still doing a LOT of commercials now ("Bounty paper towels", "Ford", & one or two others that escape me at the moment). Which he started doing while his show was still running. Maybe that had a hand in it?

The show's probably run it's course. It has been on for eight years, after all.

    Here's Mike's response: http://www.deadline.com/2012/11/disc...obs-cancelled/

I think his funniest "job" was castrating and de-tailing lambs. The mule logging segment was a close second.

I'll give him a job. A dirty job, too. Wink wink nudge nudge.

8 seasons of smelly, gross work? I'm more surprised that he didn't quit earlier!

I think the show has run its course.

He is the narrator for several Discovery Channel shows The Deadliest Catch, I just caught a trout fishing show out of Mass. and a few others.

He does the BEST rendition of the National Anthem. It was one show where he helped with a A or AA baseball team. He has an awesome voice. All his opera training shows. I'll miss watching it. The new shows from Down Under were a bit lame. Not quite up to snuff.

He's a hottie fo' sho'! I remember laughing (internally) during a Ford commercial when DH remarked that Rowe was getting fat and had a little pot belly now. I looked over at DH, who sports his own beer locker, and just sniggered (internally) and thought "rarr hiss spit spit."

Glad to hear someone else thinks he's hot. He's got a great voice, looks great in jeans and a T-shirt, has a great sense of humor and seems comfortable in any situation. And looks good leaning against a Ford.

He's also intelligent, which makes him even hotter.

I think they ran out of dirty jobs. The last few seasons they were practically begging the audience to send in ideas for dirty jobs. They scraped the bottom of the goo barrel of ideas.

I was really surprised the show went on as long as it did. It was becoming obvious that they were running out of ideas toward the end. The last few episodes were pretty pathetic.

I am going to miss Mike.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/-dirty-jobs...201500284.html apparently the ratings have been going lower for years. I actually forgot this show was still on. And his Romney appearance was in support of industry, but not a Romney endorsement. And as the article says, he's still appearing in commercials for Bounty and Ford, and narrating some specials and series for Discovery channel.

    Oh, snap!

Read this section of Mike Rowe's Thanks:

"When our economy crapped the bed in 2008, Dirty Jobs became weirdly relevant in ways that no one anticipated, especially me. Suddenly, I found myself answering questions about jobs and manufacturing, infrastructure and the skills gap, and a few other topics that I knew little about. But it was you that really took this show to the next level. Thanks to your research and support, we were able to build and launch an online Trade Resource Center, and today, mikeroweWORKS.com continues to make a noisy and compelling case for skilled labor. I think that’s pretty cool. In fact, The mikeroweWORKS Foundation has raised over a million dollars for trade school scholarships and tool stipends and has just announced a partnership with Scholarship America and funded a $250,000 educational grant to provide scholarships for those looking to finish their education in a skilled trade. That’s something you should all be proud of. I know I am, and I know for a fact that it wouldn’t have happened without you. And I’m not just saying that because you’re the boss. So thank you all very, very much."
