Question Waterproof Mascara on tan carpet

Ninja Cat and the Thank-goodness-he's cute-Dog conspired in a plot to assassinate my new waterproof mascara tube. In the wee hours of the night the tube was absconded from a drawer and voraciously exsanguinated on many spots on the tan carpet.

Importantly - dog is fine and I thankfully wrested the poor eviscerated tube's corpse from his mouth at 1:20 this morning.

Now - how to get the mascara out? The waterproof part adds a whole other angle....

One suggested baby oil followed by Dawn. I'm worried I won't be able to get it out properly. Is it my only option?

Waterproof doesn't mean that cleansers won't have any effect, so I would ABSOLUTELY NOT start out with baby oil! I'd start with something designed for the job-- a good carpet spot-cleaning spray.

Wouldn't eye makeup remover be the logical place to start?

Do not use oil! Get some hair spray. good old fashioned hair spray. Spray spot and use clean white cloth and repeatedly press the spot, do not rub. keep dabbing with a clean area of cloth until spot is gone.
It works!!! I got blue Methaline blue out of nice breeches doing this. it is an old fashioned but tried and true method!
