    Default Staples vs Horse Show

So I signed up to take my green bean to his first horse show this weekend. I've been making really good progress with my guy and I was really excited to go. This morning I got a call that my horse was gushing blood from his forehead and that he was a huge mess. So I called the vet, she went out, shaved his forehead, punched in 5 staples and went on her way. I made the girls send me pictures of him and he looks like a lobotomy patient.

Now what to do about the show? He's not the best traveler and he would be going alone. My gut is saying not to show him or am I being a weenie? She says that he can go back to work and everything but he looks terrible (its very noticible on his huge white blaze) and I worry about him smushing it in the trailer.

Would you skip the show or brave it out?

I would skip it if it is this weekend. Just seems like one more thing to worry about for his first show. There will be other shows.

I would stay home. There will always be another show.

Absolutely stay home. Last thing you need him to do is bang his head on something in the trailer and make it worse.

Thanks guys, I'm glad I'm not being an overprotective mother this time. I'm going to keep him home and feed him lots of carrots and scratch his favorite spot all weekend.

Maybe he did this on purpose....

I'd give it a miss. You want his first show to be a great experience for him. And I'd also worry about him knocking it in the trailer.

Poor baby! Hope he's staple free and well soon!

Definitely stay home. You wouldn't want him to be in pain for his first show and think all horse shows are painful. Much rather take him when he is feeling better!

I also think you should stay home. You would also be stressed about it I think. Baby him! There will be more show. Poor baby.

I agree with skipping it. Also, I can't believe I'm the first poster requesting pictures. You have to know that COTHers love gross pictures!
