I just recently bought win pictures for a horse I bred (Red Eagle). On the one picture it says new track record. He ran with the temporary rail out 60 feet. Do they keep different records when the temp rails are out?

No, a track record is a track record. They just adjust the placement of the gate.

Hmmm, it's really quite confusing as the time is slower than the current track record. That said, when the race was run the timer on the infield board showed a time that was faster.
Maybe the track photographer just used the time indicated on the tote board and figured it was the TR, and was adjusted later. Very nice horse, congrats on a great year with him.
Watched the replay. Didn't like that whip, did he! Nice win. Nice horse. Congrats!
But he thought, "This procession has got to go on." So he walked more proudly than ever, as his noblemen held high the train that wasn't there at all. H.C.Anderson
