    Default Nylon Zippers

    What makes them slide better?

I've got one on an old raincoat that also has snaps but a couple of the snaps are broken so I tried the zipper and it's a bwetch to get to work. I hate to give up the raincoat cause it's great for the barn.

...Taking them out and putting in a new one?

I have a brand-new fall jacket that the zipper is already shot on, and more annoying a $4800 Standard gown where the invisible zipper is ALREADY broken. (A local seamstress is replacing it.) I am especially annoyed on that one, needless to say.

I hate nylon zippers. I have at least two more skirts in a pile of 'need to be repaired' stuff because the side zips are permanently jammed or off the track. Bring back metal.

Replace the snaps and forget the zipper?

I also hate nylon zippers. I spent part of my day yesterday fixing one on a very expensive pair of slacks for my husband. What is the point of such a rinky dink zipper in expensive pants? The zipper had separated, so I had to pry the bottom clip off and basically create a new stop at the location where the zipper would come together. Pain the rear.

I'll give this a try. I've already tried to repair the snaps but no luck and considering the raincoat is older than dirt I'm sure not going to put any money into replaceing the zipper either. Thanks Mosey_2003.

Hey, I'm not guaranteeing it will work, but at this point won't hurt. Good luck!
