    Post Vote for President

I'm pretty sure who will win in my made up poll here, but I'm just curious as to how much.

I went with the choice I would make if I were having to vote today. Honestly, I'm struggling this year. Fiscally I lean one way, but human rights and equality are more important to me than money. I'm a registered Republican, but this year I think I'll have to vote Democrat.

Not to be picky, but President is spelled wrong in the heading, Sorry.

Why is there an "other"? Or rather, why isn't htere a "Gary Johnson", a "Jill Stein", a "Virgil Goode" and a "Rocky Anderson"??

Just because the media does everything it can to ensure that the average person only knows the big 2 (like keeping them out of the debates) doesn't mean we have to stoop to that level.

I think if more people investigated 3rd party candidates, we'd have a better system than we do now (between dumb/evil and dumber/eviler).

    So is poll, I think.

English is such a tricky language to spell.

I think it's kind of pointless as all it proves is what the small population on this forum will do with their vote. We also don't know how many people voting are actually registered voters. The population here is mostly female also who are more likely to support Obama...particularly single young women. So consider demographics...that has to be anytime a poll is really meaningful.

Right now real polls across the US are going to Romney for the most part. :-)

And my favorite, although the page seems to be down right now (there is an electoral vote map that shows states in different sizes based on their number of electoral votes):

We voted because it doesn't say humans only. And we're 2 warmbloods. And we're part Arab, so guess who we voted for!

We're not registered voters, but our owner is.

It's all pretty meaningless as popular vote has nothing to do with who wins..it's the electoral vote that matters. Key swing states are going to Romney like Florida, Virginia, N. Hampshire and even Ohio and he's tied in other states like Wisconsin and PA. You also need to be reading non partisan polls..Huffington post is not non partisan and I seriously doubt very scientific.

Why? Because you have your finger on the pulse of the U.S. popular vote and electoral college system better than those that do this for a living and have dedicated decades of their lives to interpreting poll results?

FWIW, the Princeton Election Consortium was more accurate than any other source in determining 2008 election results.

If Obama wins Ohio (he's up by 5 points), Romney will have to carry ALL the rest of the swing states. Not very likely.

I know that my swing state (CO) is slightly leaning Obama. He's also a bit ahead in Ohio. It will be interesting to see how the storm affects voter turnout.

ETA- It totally threw me off that the colors in this poll have Obama as red and Romney as blue

Neither of the mainstream candidates really do anything for me.

I'm fairly certain Obama will win. Mainly because most people my age have only known (for their adult lives/memory- not what they have learned through history) two term presidents. In my lifetime, there has only been one one term president. And back then I was too young to worry about politics!

    .
No I'm just paying attention to sources other than liberal media. I hope you noticed my post with Gallup and Rasmussen, two national and well respected pollsters, polls showing Romney in the lead.
