Postdoc/Industry research positions - where are they?
I am closing in on finishing my Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry and since my mind is always thinking of the next step, it's what I'm thinking about.
If I were to find the perfect job and I wanted it right away, I could be ready to accept the position by this coming fall. If I found a job that wasn't available until January of 2014, that would work too. When I graduate I feel is a bit flexible, but I find myself anxious for a bigger paycheck (even if just a little!) and a new environment.
I love research and have also really enjoyed being a TA, and now I'm looking to tie horses and my career together. I had previously thought I wanted to completely leave chemistry and my career for a horse career, but I've realized that isn't the case. The best thing would be if I can find a job related to horses and chemistry. So I've been poking around Googling equine nutrition, reproduction, etc. and am not finding much. It seems these positions are scarce/hard to find, and most job postings I've found say they "require" education in an equine/nutrition/genetics/etc. field - which I don't have. I am confident I can learn and grow into a new field, but I need to convince others of that as well.
So, any advice to where to find these positions? I am willing to move, but prefer locations with cooler temps, haha.
Thanks in advance!

Didn't think about drug development or company geared towards horses - thanks!
I am around Cincinnati, OH. Lots of chemistry opportunities around here with P&G being the biggest. Close to Indianapolis and Lexington. Was searching around Lexington but having trouble just googling things. Doesn't seem to be turning much up.
If I don't have to move that would be nice, but absolutely willing to for the right position.
