i know it sounds trite, but i need a book or something to read about the Power of Positive Thinking. I want it for a family member. This person has had alot go wrong for them, and they are just sinking into a pattern of synicism and sarcasim. its hard to listen to all the time. any recommendations would be appreciated. thanks!
Do you suspect depression at all? Not sure this would go over well as a book you'd give to someone else, but David Burns' "Feeling Good" is something of a workbook that teaches cognitive behavioral therapy to address depression.
I found the horse fiction book Crying with Cockroaches very motivating. It reminded me that if you stop to plan and see all of the barriers in life sometimes you will never complete a task. I still keep it on my desk at work to remind me not to let dotting my i's and crossing my t's keep me from moving forward with an important task.
