Default need book on positive thinking

i know it sounds trite, but i need a book or something to read about the Power of Positive Thinking. I want it for a family member. This person has had alot go wrong for them, and they are just sinking into a pattern of synicism and sarcasim. its hard to listen to all the time. any recommendations would be appreciated. thanks!

Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting is a good one. It's a very quick read and pretty motivating. I believe all that stuff works, but am not consisitent in implementing it.

Do you suspect depression at all? Not sure this would go over well as a book you'd give to someone else, but David Burns' "Feeling Good" is something of a workbook that teaches cognitive behavioral therapy to address depression.

I found the horse fiction book Crying with Cockroaches very motivating. It reminded me that if you stop to plan and see all of the barriers in life sometimes you will never complete a task. I still keep it on my desk at work to remind me not to let dotting my i's and crossing my t's keep me from moving forward with an important task.

I really enjoyed Jillian Michaels' book, Unlimited. I'd recommend it to anyone that needs a life change, to change their habits and thinking, and a pick-me-up.

I love "You can Heal Your Life" By Lousie L Hay...I've had this book for YEARS and still read it. I keep it by my night stand and highlight parts that "click" with me

It not only tells why our thoughts affect our lives it explains HOW to change our thought patterns thus encouraging a positive life style.

thanks! they all sound great - off to B&N today.

also - tried the original Power of Positive Thinking - percieved as being kinda old school by this individual, but this person likes to read - especially if animals are involved!

    thanks again!
