Is there a setting I need to change?
You have to go through the Notifications to get to the PMs.

Do what I do - in preferences, just turn signature lines off. No more clutter!
ETA -oops, that was a response to post #340. Should have quoted.

In IE? Take it out of compatibility mode. Unclick the torn paper icon in the address bar.

I'm sorry; could you elaborate on this point a little? I'm not clear on what you're referencing.

That was a change that had been requested earlier and it looks like it came through this weekend.

Is there a way to turn the notifications button off? If not, I would certainly want to. It has no use for me and is only a nagging reminder. I do want to know about pms so assume somehow I can see that when I open up?

I am hopeful that they will do something about this when they get around to addressing the thumbs (I think it was on the thumbs thread it sounded like they were going to ditch the downers at least...). As it is, my notifications keep piling up unread as I refuse to acknowledge them.
So thumbstalker, hit me again while you can!

I have this in red at the top of my screen today:
Sorry, you can only use your validation link once for security reasons.
It appeared when I hit 'today's posts' after reading a thread.

This issue has gone away after the forum locked up for a while and is now letting me back in. Guessing it has to do with them doing some updates.

What is up with the "views" count? For instance on a thread the post count will be 2 and view count will be 3??????? Of course I could have missed the answer somewhere in the "thumb" debate!

Yup. Can you fix it please?
And PLEASE get rid of the "Similar Threads". Too many zombie threads come from it.

Or put a date limitation on it so only threads from the last year or so come up. Or separate the old threads out and label them somehow so it is more obvious that they are old.

I think that is a great way to do it, Horsepoor. 'Similar threads' should have a date limitation on them.

View count isn't fixed across the board.

Why is everyone giving people thumbs down in this thread?! I'm reading back through as I haven't checked this in a while and it seems like every other post has at least 2-3 thumbs down. Why? No one is doing anything other than communicating with the mods and each other about issues. No one is even being snarky about it.
*sigh* Can this be used as another point at how useless the thumbs down is?
(Interested to see how many thumbs down I get for this post...)

I agree, view counts are still not correct.

I doubt everyone is giving thumbs down. This thread is just a popular place for the loser(s) who are having fun giving thumbs down for just about everything to anonymously have their jollies.

Well yes, not "everyone" , but since you can only thumb a post once, there are 5+ people lurking in this thread just waiting for a new post to taint. It's just silly. I don't get it.
But on the other hand, I shouldn't waste time trying to figure people out, because there are so many things I will never understand...

I laughed when I saw that those of us annoyed by the zombie threads got thumbed down. Must be some zombie loving thumbstalkers!
