Critique Please
I have finally worked up the courage to ask for a critique from the COTH peanut gallery.
Here is what I see: My stirrups are a bit long, my hands are too low, I should sink more weight into my rear end at the canter and GM would be aghasted at my color ensemble.
But mostly I'm just happy I didn't fall off.

When I was a pre teen, I used to hike/wrap my stirrups up about that short after each lesson, and practice for my jockey career! It's so fun!
Too bad I'm 5'7"

God, just watching you trot with the stirrups up that high made the backs of my thighs burn

What do you want critiquing on? This looks like a halloween costumed ride, not something you normally do unless you're training to be a jockey?
Maybe post a video of your usual riding.
Because if you're riding hunter/jumper and think your stirrups are too long, I would have to disagree with you.

You need to shorten the stirrups at least 3 holes for o/f work or GM will NOT approve!!

Wait, you think you're stirrups to too LONG? I'm assuming this is for a Halloween show, correct? Maybe you can post something of you're "normal" riding? I posted a link to Elizabeth Benson's Jumper round at WIHS EQ final. She won the final btw. Take a look at the way she rides and her position.

Laugh (at all the serious people).
Looks like you had fun.
I have to agree with the poster who said watching you post with your stirrups that length made my legs hurt.

Thank god you're kidding ha. Well in that case, then yeah you're stirrups are wayy to long. And you're outfit is too traditional, go for more neon colors.

LOL I love it, you guys look adorable and it looks like you had great fun I'm with ellebeaux though - my thighs and knees are killing me looking at those pics! LOL
I'm really hoping the serious responses are actually jokes as well!

Me too.
To everyone who commented on the posting: I could make it exactly 2 laps around the indoor before having to let my burning thighs rest. It's like doing squats on a horse. My thighs and butt are killing me today. High Fives to all the jockeys out there, it's not easy, even pretending!
ETA: I think I gave my trainer (who was the one yelling "Go Pedie, Go!" in the video) some ideas and so my lessons might just get harder now.

Looks like you had a blast, though! I'm sure the manufacturers of Epsom salts are loving you today!
