Want to be Facebook Friends?
I enjoy connecting with people who share a passion for horses and everything equestrian. So where better to find like minded, horse loving people than COTH?
Let's connect on Facebook!

Given the number of threats I get from users here, no. I'm not interested in being your friend on Facebook. In fact, I am not Facebook friends with any COTHers, even the ones I know very well.

You actually get threats, Lex? My friends on facebook are people I actually know. And, let's face it, we who post here on COTH mostly don't really know each other. I do have a few COTH facebook friends, but I know them outside of the bulletin board, too. I think I'll keep my friends list small. It just suits me better.

Me too! Especially on off topic days and the like. :-) Some of them have become my favorite posters because they're so much fun!

I'd love to connect with more CoTH folks on FB. My page is
http://www.facebook.com/pages/WoofNWhinny/185197184826686?v=wall
Hmmm. Anyone know how to make that link show up decently? I mean with the name of the page showing, instead of the entire URL showing.

You edit the text in the link code after the URL bracket where the URL is listed. When you post a link, the URL text is the address of the link you are posting and you can edit that to be whatever text you want.

Yes, I smell like a horse. No, I don't consider that to be a problem.

I'll play. I post about a million pictures of my child on a daily basis, however.

It wasn't me. I gave you a thumbs up cause I agree. I don't have time to bother with Facebook. Heck, I barely have time to check COTH regularly.

Back in my day, we didn't have as many warning labels because people weren't so dang stupid!

I feel more connected to the horse people here than to some of my horsey "friends" on FB. I joined FB just to see pics of one friend's new horse--that's the only place she posts them, and no one does pass-around snapshots anymore. I thought FB was like COTH -- a forum where you could actually "talk" with people with similar interests.
I prefer COTH. Here we discuss things. We ask questions and get feedback. We think. We provoke thought. We even get into train wrecks. We laugh, we cry, we share.
FB is mostly soundbytes and news flashes. You can send friends pictures of flowers, but I've had only a few real exchanges of thoughts, and those have been due to the hurricane and then two of us helping a third friend find a horse (and she went out and found a real live one in the real live world on her own!).
Some of my FB friends I get to see in real life, but some I don't.
