I hate the new pop up ad on the bottom of the screen....
I don't know why I feel compelled to say this but...
I hate the new pop up ad on the bottom of the screen.... (It is currently an F150 ad.)
I actually LIKE the ads around the coth forum, because I see a lot of cool stuff, and sometimes find something I didn't know I needed
But - I really don't like the popup....
That is all.

It is definitely annoying! And if I try to access the forum from a tablet, there is no easy way to close the pop-up ad, so I end up not being able to see everything.

I hate it as well. The stupid thing just popped up FIVE times in the last few seconds as I tried to reply to this thread. It's getting worse.
It can't be effective advertising- usually I just leave the board when it pops up. It's some truck (I don't even know the brand because I kill it before reading).
They must be paying coth a TON of money. .

Yes, the Ford ad is being very persistent today. It's on every page change.

Me five.
It used to be sporadic, now it is there practically every change of page and very annoying, even for hard to annoy me.
I too don't know what they are advertising, too busy trying to find and hit the closing x, so I can see the page.
I am not sure that is a sustainable way to read COTH, a bit too much to take for long.
I have a very bad headache today and that is not helping, making me even more grumpy.

There has been a topic on this in the help forum for several days. The mods have said that it was a trial ad thing. I think they've decided not to continue it after the current run expires.
The close button does not work on my phone. I just have to leave the forums to get away from it.

I agree. Been trying to figure out how to turn pop-up's off on COTH pages. There's probably a way.
If I knew what I were doing, why would I take lessons?

I just block the ad scripts. Many of them contain attack cookies anyway, so I have no reservations about doing it.

It's not Ford's fault that COTH is using the ad. It's COTH's fault it's there. Boycotting Ford for advertising is so dumb.

Sigh. First World problems. Hit the "close" box and presto, everything is back to normal.
