well, I am guessing average size. The donkeys don't look too big to me, but I have never been up close a working one.

    Info from their page:

If you would like to donate new or used headcollars and bits, please send them to:

Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust, Brewery Arms Cottage, Stane Street, Ockley, Surrey RH5 5TH
    Email: heather@gambiahorseanddonkey.org.uk
Or call Dena on 07778 379879.
If you go to the site, click Online Giving and scroll way way down you'll come to the section about donating halters and bits.

Thanks so much for thinking of that!

Thank you for the personalized help; paying in Pounds is the key to seeing the paypal option!

Getting close to the target, so I hope you can keep the momentum going and reach the goal!

I have a leather harness, and a few bits. Do you think they would be able to use it?

Melanthe - we've made it - courtesy of Thomas1 and his generous donation. Thomas, if you are reading this, thank you so much!

I'm so tickled, but of course the equines of Gambia will be in need for a long time, so it'd probably be a good idea for me to file this charity away in my "annual giving" section.

I suppose I should thank PETA for being so self centered that you got mad and put together the page too. * feeling very much in the spirit of Christmas right now*

Oh oh oh I was hoping someone would say that!

We ARE at 111% with 28 contributors as of this post, including Thomas of blessed sainthood (oh yes St. Thomas of the Donkeys, you've heard of him! )

We are now officially members of the GHDT 333 Club, having done our part to get the COTH Forum name engraved on the plaque when the new clinic is built.

However, there isn't going to be a plaque until there's a clinic. So there might be some teensie room for further donations, not that we want to squeeze the turnip too hard. Maybe just through December?

As we've had 2 contributions SINCE reaching 100%, I'll call it unanimous. Why stop now?

The only question is, should I raise the goal, or should we just watch while it overflows?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK everyone who got us this far!

Just found this thread and the website to donate. Having grown up in Africa where donkeys are common modes of transportation and often live wretched lives, sometimes despite the best efforts of their owners, I am happy to do my small part. Terrific job OP!! You've done more for these animals in a month than PETA has in 50 yrs.
