Showed my horse!!! w/ picture
A while back I posted about being so nervous that I was panicky and not able to show.
Well, after working on my mind for several months; making sure my boy is in tip top health, I went to a show. I was a little nervous, he was VERY up and showey but I had a lot of fun. Even a bit of leaping into the lope in the make up ring didn't scare me off!!!
I'm pleased with his performance...although getting used to riding a 'show' horse is going to be a challenge. He's a totally different horse at shows that he is at home.
Here's a pic of us. My feet are too far forward...a bad habit. But, I'm sitting up much straighter. I thought I was smiling the whole time but this pic looks like not. Anyway, I like the way he looks. He sets up and goes like this all by himself. No training aids beyond grazing bit and romel reins.

Very nice job, both of you! Congrats! I totally understand what you mean about your horse being different at shows. I have yet to have a horse be the same at home and at shows!

My carriage horse was the same everywhere...a real lady's horse. So Harry, being more normal, is a whole new challenge. My solution is to just show and show and show and learn to enjoy his happy spirit!

Yes, a Morgan by Tug Hill Whamunition. What I love best is that this is Harry, out of the box. I am an amateur owner/trainer/ rider. So nice to be able to show out of the back yard!

Congrats on getting out there! Both you and your horse look fabulous! Each one you get under your belt without incident is a little bit of a boost to your confidence -- just keep that in mind.
