My Fleetwater Opposition filly scores well at Trak inspection!
I sort of took her on a whim, I never through of getting her inspected (even for voluntary marks) nor did I really care about getting her registered (but did! Don't faint!) but it was a great experience!
Luna (Bright Opposition) is 5 months old now and totally the light of my life (directly behind my son and husband, of course )
The inspector commented that you couldn't have much better breeding than she has (of course I agree ) and that any breeder should be proud to have bred her. Talk about all warm and fuzzy inside! He mentioned to the group at large that Fleetwater Opposition was available in Florida through EMCO stallion services, I corrected and let him know it is sold out! His response was "well, I hope YOU got some!"
I do have half a dose left, but Luna is my one and only so bubble wrap and mucho insurance......
She scored 8/8/9 (general impression/movement/conformation) and was the top scoring foal at the inspection, though she can't be designated premium because her dam is an Irish sport horse (book d) so she is not eligible.
oh no, Viney... she is MINE (imagine the MINE! MINE! MINE! like from the gulls on Finding Nemo )
Lily (the dam http://www.tangerinesporthorses.com/Babalily.html) was my first real competition horse, through highs and lows. I bred her in 2010 to FO and have always wanted a grey filly out of her. The foal was stillborn (full term) and happened to be a grey filly. I was devastated, but Lily was fine and that was really my biggest concern.
We rebred and she gave me exactly what I ordered a second time (even though 4 foals prior were all colts). So Luna was two years in the waiting and is my absolute pet, not to mention she is the sweetest thing around
I don't even know at the right price if she would be for sale
My plans are to show her probably hunter breeding (because it is easier) as a yearling and definitely the FEH stuff if we get some in Florida. She was perfect at the inspection (save a couple whinnies, but I'll cut her some slack) and she went completely on her own.
I think she looks a lot like her daddy, but also see her mum in there. I hope the bloodlines come through! So far she is incredibly brave and sensible. Everything has been super easy but she is definitely a thinker and a total diva (i.e., when braiding her she wasn't bad, she was like "it's about time you beautified me! I deserve it!"
