Most of y'all are pretty up to date on my struggles with Willow, I post about them pretty often and blog about them as well.
It's been a frustrating battle for the most part, with not a lot of highs. Yesterday afternoon, though, I went up to treat her for scratches (ick ick ick!). She was so good to stand there (while she was in alone!) while I scrubbed, clipped, and applied goo.
When I was all done I was expecting her to bugger back off to her hay, but she swung around to put her nose in my neck and actually whuffle at me! She's usually queen of cranky and not a vocal horse at. all. I was blown away. She must have stood and whuffled for 4-5 minutes, then gave me a nudge and went back to her hay. I may or may not have gotten choked up.
I just had to share, since I know y'all will 'get it'. I'm not sure if the horsey aliens beamed up my standoffish cranky mare and replaced with her this sweetheart, or if I'm actually starting to do something right! Either way, I'll take it!
