    Default Anybody registered with Weatherbys?

I am trying to see if my horse is registered there. I thought I was told he was but there doesn't seem to be a registration number on his passport.

    Thanks!

For TB searches, Weatherby's GSB is searchable free. They are also linked to equineline, so a search there would bring any GSB information. Name changes will screw you.

The Weatherby's NTR (Non-Thoroughbred Registry) for TB crosses is not available free that I have been able to discover. NED used to have all the Weatherby's horses, NTR and GSB, but it announced that it was closing down on September 30. I haven't checked to see if it's still active in any form.

Thanks Viney. What is NED? He may be in the NTR, since I believe his dam, although a full TB, is unregistered.

NED = British National Equine Database. It started with a flourish a couple of years ago and was funded by the British Government Ag Department (DEFRA), in the hopes that it would make tracking equine disease outbreaks easier. However DEFRA yanked funding for the future, hence the notice of closure.

He couldn't race in the US, but he could have raced in the UK/Ireland/France. If that's the case, you might be able to find him on The Racing Post or France Galop. He might also have evented, so you could check and see if BE has anything for his breeding. Same with British Dressage and SJ. NED used to have all those organizations records available in one place. But they charged; not much, but still a charge. The Racing Post, BE and the others are still free to search.
