That Awkward Moment When...
...your horse is doing so well at her first novice event and then decides the plainest, least scary jump is just too out of place.

I thought I'd share this weird-yet-hilarious jump with you guys. Got to give the mare credit, though. I can't believe she cleared it.
Anyone else have any images of your beast doing something particularly goofy? Much love to GRC and those other hard working photographers for being there to capture such events!

Ah! In her defense, I think that was the only fence that was more or less directly headed at the rail with the trailers and spectators, etc. A lot of greenies would be awkward!
I haven't a ton of love for GRC, but I'm always grateful that there might be a slim chance that they might get a decent picture out of the 100 they take.

Nice job staying in the middle and letting her sort it out! In her defense, white is a very scary color

Second this, nicely ridden.

True, YB, it was! Glad to hear another Area II person got to come out and experience the awesome weather that day.
Thanks Grey and Fooler, she can be very acrobatic.
And you're right about the scary color, that's probably why Java looks at me funny when she sees me with shorts on. *oh the whiteness*

That third shot made me laugh out loud. "Oh gee golly there's a jump under me, how did that happen?!?"

I love your expression as she's doing it, like "it's just a vertical ya big goober!"

I was going to mention your expression, too. You look so happy and it never changes -- as if the horse is jumping perfectly

These are fantastic. There has to be a photo contest you can enter them in. Way to stick your butt in the saddle. You're my hero!

Thanks for the compliments on the ride, guys. Feelin' the love!
As for the expression, well, she just has so much personality, I must laugh at her at least once every ride.
Still waiting to see if anyone else as a photo to laugh at!

Love how your facial expression never changes and the mare is just working out which leg goes where, while keeping her focus down there where the monsters are!
