Keeneland, 6th Race Friday, My 1st Start as Trainer
So very, very excited. Race didn't come up as tough as it could and the filly has been training like the champ that I think she is this week. This filly came to me in March to be broke, and here we are now out for the loot at Keeneland. I am so thankful to the owners, Kent and Tracy Hersman, for letting me keep this filly to run her and hopefully it will be a good experience for all. Just couldn't help but mention this

Also on Friday ... "Hey, good buddy, remember that party we threw you, the gold watch you got, the talk of beautiful fillies and all the grass you want to eat back in Aiken, plus the 'enjoy retirement' cards folks sent to you? We'll let's just say we were tad premature."
Like an Onion headline: Phoenix marks Aikenite's first race since retirement
Pulled out of retirement and returning in Fridays Grade 3, $175,000 Phoenix on opening day at Keeneland, he seems likely to receive more interest, albeit this time from the wagering public. He's compiled a record of 2 wins and 2 seconds from 5 starts over Keenelands synthetic Polytrack surface.

Good luck! Since I can't bet (no close tracks for simulcasting and no on-line/phone wagering here) I'll just send good vibes!

Speaking of betting -- should I bet? How much?

I know the odds -- doesn't help me know if I should bet but I think I will!

Thank.you all. Glimmer, I've been training for a bit now but bided my time choosing tge right horse to be my maiden starter. I know she'll try her heart out and that's all I can ask for. Bacchus, I'm suggesting $5-$10 across (win/place/show) to everyone. Lukas is 20-1to too. We've got as good a chance as any.

Lots of luck! I remember my first starter, too! I think he was 3rd, but he went on to do very well in some state bred races early on when the slots just started in Delaware, then he got claimed -- but he was a cool little horse. Best of luck! (Hopefully she'll win!)

Yay! I'll set me DVR. Hope she does well, but I'll be happy if she's anywhere ahead of assmussen's horse
