Thanks all so much! I have bookmarked all the sites and will think through how this pic would look best, pastels, paint, charcoal, etc. I need an artist who can also do human faces as the pic is my daughter on her horse bareback in the snow, she is laying forward on his neck looking at the camera.

Second this. She did one of my mom's heart horse and it feels like she is looking at you. I couldn't believe a portrait could really capture the essence of the mare. I didn't have a great photo for her to work from either.

I sent her several pics, with instructions like - use pose from this photo, but her color is more like THIS pic, and her eye looks more like THAT pic... and it came out just perfectly.
