new england---sweet, goofy saddlebred needs new home
thinker is in his early teens, and seems to have had a stressful youth.
he can be worried until he knows for sure he won't be spanked or cranked ever again.
when he trusts you he's willing and tries very hard to be a brave boy. he loves a meandering trail ride and willingly goes out, loads and trailers well and is polite with vets and farriers.
this summer he's learned to cross rivers and streams and even drink out of a puddle, which he now prefers to his boring tap water.
he is barefoot and healthy and very friendly. he's also built wonky behind and moves strangely, but he is sound and feeling good nonetheless.
his mom is undergoing some scary health stuff and i'm helping her to place him in a loving home.
he's also a handsome light palomino and does an amazing giraffe impression when he spots something which could potentially eat him.
he's pretty low in the pecking order and does best with a mellow companion and plenty of affection and attention.
he is not suitable for ring work of any kind, he gets worried and anxious and we just don't ask him to do something which upsets him so much.
i would say a calm and confidant advanced beginner would do well with him.
