Well, I am intrigued by these plastic bowls, and they have heated models.
Do you know anyone using them where its very frozen for the winter?
What's sold in my area are huge cattle units made out of steel, with steel bowls and a heater element that keeps the water in the bowl from freezing.
Apparently the Equusprings have a tank in the back with a deicer, but the bowl itself isn't heated.
Risky? Does that work ?!
I have them in my barn, I love them. They work great, feels like bathwater! VERY easy to clean.
I have Miraco's Lil Spring waterers. All plastic with submersible heaters in the water well. 12 years and easy to maintain. I replace the submersibles every few years. Easy to clean.
I also have a Ritchie, which is steel and a PIA. I can't wait until I have good reason to replace it with a Miraco.
Where Norwegian Fjords Rule
We have the Ritchie plastic (red and Yellow) waterers with the heaters. I love not having to worry about frozen water tanks and chipping ice. Have had no trouble with them at all. Can't wait to get them in the last 2 fields.
