I am so very, very sorry. Losing a foal is truly devastating. Losing such a special foal is worse.

It is always hard to loose a foal, especially when it is your only one of the year. Thoughts and Prayers Siegi.

Loose piece of PLASTIC in a temporary stall at the Keuring? I am sorry but I just cannot add to the chorus of sympathy. How in the hell did a big enough piece of plastic to kill a foal get into a stall at a show and who was responsible for baby proofing the stall? Maybe this seems callous but this was so preventable. Sorry for the loss Siegi but this is insane.

This is terrible news. My thoughts are with you and the filly's dam. I know it was terrible few days for my mare when she lost her colt years ago.

Very , very sorry Siegi B.

I will provide you with a poem from Hyperion Stud's newsletter :

    Somewhere in times own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
    Some paradise where horses go
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again - Stanley Harrison

I am so sorry for your loss. I understand how difficult it can be to process these kinds of things. As breeders we have a powerful bond to all of the beautiful creatures we produce… but still, there are the special ones, the living breathing masterpieces, who touch our hearts and ignite our passion. Loosing one, especially one so young, is so difficult to process. A few years ago we produced in one of our litters a very very special Doberman puppy – who’s superb quality I have never seen before or since. We named after the great stallion DeNiro. Our boy DeNiro passed away tragically at about a year of age… he died in my arms. It was the loss of a great show dog, a potentially great breeding animal, and a very special soul. Even after all these years… and all that has come since my DeNiro passed, he still holds a very special place in my heart.

What sad news. It is so hard to lose a horse and foals and the loss of a foal even harder. We add our sympathy to the rest
