My daughter and her OTTB ran their first prelim event at Poplar Place Farm this past weekend. They not only completed the event but came home with a fifth place ribbon. I am so very proud of them, it was a hilly and challenging course unlike what we have up here in area 8 but despite that they came in right at optimum time double clear.
We have only had this guy for under 2 years and still working on getting him to relax for dressage and show jumping but dang I am nothing but impressed with his guy (we purchased him from LAZ back in 2/2011).
That was great! I was at Poplar grooming for a friend in the 2* and I'm almost positive we saw your daughter go up the bounce banks when we were walking the course. They looked great! I love hearing the riders talk to their horses on the helmet cams!
Thanks everyone, I do so love being able to ride along with them via the helmet cam. I get a kick out of the things she says to him on course. She was nervous and honestly it was the first time I was too, we just dont have courses like that up here. Completing that course was a huge confidence builder and made the 9 hr drive down to poplar worth every minute. He is such a brave boy!
