Horse Skiing - Downtown Leadville, CO
Looks like a fun day to be downtown.

I think this would be fun, (I dont ski)
but I would use a breast collar with attached traces, put a backstrap and a crouper on my saddle, add trace carriers and then have my skier attach his rope. Like the roller blade-er in the german or dutch video where the horse and rider are jumping.
The skiers in this video have the rope attached to the horn.

If they still do this in Leadville, I might have to make a short road trip this winter!!
Fun fact: Leadville, CO is the highest incorporated town in the US with an elevation of 10,152' (and yes, I had to look that number up )

Hee, hee, don't drive 24 north out of Leadville towards I-70 after dark. The switchbacks on that 30 miles of road will knock your socks off! Leadville itself it situated in a beautiful area!!

Cool! Ski joring with a bit of ski-jousting thrown in!
I went ski-joring once, in the 70s, much more gently. Ton of fun. We kind of borrowed a horse that was, at the time, long listed for the 3-day team. Can't divulge, Jack LeGoff would come back from the grave and nail us. But we had the owner's sister's permission!
Every winter my son wants to give it a try, but he's always doing something else when the snow is primo at the barn.
