Oh dear, Shermy. You STILL don't believe ANY of the source I quoted, and you SAW him speak, so you are correct?

" Obama is right of Reagan on a lot of policies. You watching the RNC and contriving results from what you think aren't facts.

Tbay--What does that have to do with a comparison of presidents? Are you quoting Reagan or Obama? It sounds like the speech Obama made.

    How old are you BTDT??

Just curious if YOU ever heard Reagan speak, cuz the idea that you seem to really believe Obama and Reagan are similiar is just crazy.

I wonder if you are basically going off of some of your left wing opinion articles again.

Reagan was the opposite of Obama.

They are all Ronald Reagan. When Reagan said, "Entrepreneurs and their small enterprises are responsible for almost all the economic growth in the United States."

He was saying, "You built it."

The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.

OK. Goody. You guys found brainyquote. I use it all of the time.

    Here's another one!
All great change in America begins at the dinner table.

You're, what, 24, Shermy? No way you could have heard Reagan, which STILL has nothing to do with a comparison of policies.

tbay--You'd fail a comprehension test for 7th graders if you interpreted the quote like that.

I am 42, how old are u? I remember Reagan very vividly. My dad took me to one of Reagan's first champaign stops. He went to Eureka College, and I live about 30 mins from there, so he came here a few times to give speeches. He made you just feel soo proud to be an American. Where Obama divides people, Reagan did he opposite. He really was an amazing speaker. Trust me, Reagan had totally the opposite views as Obama!

    Also, what about.....

"All great change in America begins at the dinner table."

Do you not agree with?? America is WE THE PEOPLE. People have the best greatest power to help themselves, instead of the Govt stepping in too.

Strong families is the greatest asset for America.

Not really understanding why you dont agree w/that.

    You ARE a teacher, correct?

Dont you like when parents are envolved w/their kids and supportive?

EXPLAIN why you are mocking that quote? I am really confused.

You do recall, that although he campaigned and put into place tax cuts that, as the deficit started rising, he raised taxes, not just once but raised taxes during five years of his presidency, right? No Norquist pledge for Reagan.

I think you need to look at what Presidents have DONE, not what they've said. Reagan couldn't get nominated by this GOP.

Perhaps you should google Reagan and liberal policies. You'll be surprised by what you get.

    For example:

and, a little more slanted, but still factual:

LOL, my European friends thing Obama is arch conservative.

While the US people think he is falling off the left side of the spectrum.

But then again the US people are so far on the right, they almost push Atilla the Hun off the podium...

Interesting though, that Reagan is hailed as such a hero.
Trickle-down economics had it's start with him. And while we had some booming in the mean time (followed by some major busting) what trickled down wasn't exactly wealth. Even his VP wasn't all for it....Bush Sr called it Voodoo-economics (and government spending rose IIRCC)

As for:< You do recall, that although he campaigned and put into place tax cuts that, as the deficit started rising, he raised taxes, not just once but raised taxes during five years of his presidency, right? No Norquist pledge for Reagan. >

You do recall he has a Dem cantrolled congress don't you? It is hard toput n tax cuts when you have tax raiseing congress sitting in the back ground.

As for comparing Obama to Rep. presidents who claim to be consertive.. I would have to say it would be Bush 2 because of all he spending he did and the beging of the bail outs...

Yes, Reagan did have deficits. The Dems had promised cuts, but went ahead and spent like crazy. That is what Govt does. That is why it is NOT the amount of taxes, but the amount of spending that needs to be cut.

Anywho, let me ask ya a question....

Did Reagan's policies create a Record amount of Federal Tax Revenue?

He CUT the Carter's tax rates drastically, and WHAT HAPPENED?

Did unemployment go WAY up or down?

Did the Economy flourish or founder?
