Got some ground goat at the farmer's market in Leesburg Saturday...making nanny-burgers with fried green tomatoes and crusty french bread. Wild berry pie with a lemon crust for desert.

DH and I are having buffalo chicken meatballs, tomato and arugula salad, and fresh blueberry clafoutis - an easy berry custard thing. We are anxiously awaiting the start of our college football season (8 PM ESPN GA TECH VS VA TECH LETS GO HOKIEs )

Spinach and artichoke pizza, garlic bread, fresh salad, and something decadent and chocolatey for dessert with a good glass of wine to finish out the night. I am catching up with a good friend so I have no doubt it will be true foodfest.

I am SO envious!! LOVE goat burgers, & make a terrific Greek-style one. My local organic goat farmer won't have any meat for sale for another few weeks at least, & I can't wait!!!!

I made the burgers with fresh rosemary and herbs d'provence with French sea salt and a balsamic glaze. Sure wish it wasn't $9/lb though.

Yeah, goat meat is pricey stuff.

However, we won't be eating too shabbily tonight. Poor hubby had to go in to work today, but on his way home he'll be stopping off to pick up 2 lobsters, a sack of Little Neck clams, & some corn on the cob for a Labor Day "clambake" tonight. In fact, I'm just about to go down & start the pots of water a-boiling.

I honestly don't know. Headed to SIL's for a Labor Day gathering. Likely something on the grill and some corn on the cob.

All I know for sure is that she requested I bring my chinese cabbage salad that she really loves, so that much I'm sure of.

-steamed artichokes with home made vinaigrette (real Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, shallots, Herbamare sea salt, pepper)
    - chicken cutlets marinated in sundried tomato/bals. vinegar/herbes de Provence marinade, barbequed
    - steamed green beans with shallots and butter, and sautéed baby potatoes
    - a good Côtes-du-Rhône red wine.

    Yum.

Yesterday's leftover (better the second day) crockpot deer chili made with homegrown tomatoes and peppers, along with store-bought corn, shelled edamame beans, and spices.

Hubby picked up some fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream while he was grocery shopping so we'll have strawberry shakes for dessert.

Now if he'd just finish playing motorcycle mechanic and get home so we can eat!

Dinner was a group effort today, resulting in:
Grilled sirloin steaks marinated in 2 cups of bourbon and 1 cup of apple cider

    Homemade red potato salad

    Organic corn on the cob

Tiramisu, and fruit salad drizzled with yogurt/cinnamon dressing
