A lot of information can be found pretty easily if you search for it. No need to ever go on HSUS' or any ARA's websites.
Links to reputable sources, i.e. USDA/APHIS and many more have been provided throughout this discussion.
If the pro side chooses to ignore them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

The pro side has historically been consistent in two ways:
1. Automatically claiming anyone who is against horse slaughter is a RARA affiliated with PETA and/or HSUS. Despite the fact many of us have never even peeked at their websites.
2. Not reading or acknowledging information coming from reputable sources.
Sad but true.

The longest thread by just repeating posts...
Some day this thread might end...
But then some fool would just start another one.

Interesting tidbit about the sale of Rita Crundwell's horses:
"The Buyer of a horse or embryo agrees that he or she is not purchasing the horse or embryo for slaughter or for any person who plans to use the horse or embryo for slaughter. The Buyer further agrees not to use, or allow the use of, the horse or embryo for slaughter while in his / her / its ownership or control."
How in the world will that be enforced?!

It likely won't, does not really mean anything in this thread context and as far as I can tell it means nothing because you can sell it to the broker at any time.
I am assuming it was a clause put into the paperwork as they had 400 horses to disperse in a hurry. Not that most of them were in danger of going for meat anyhow.

Ha, funny you should try to say it means nothing in this thread context. It's about quarter horses and slaughter, which happen to also be part of the subject title.
At least I'm not filling up the thread with stupid poems and useless youtube videos.

You can't tell me that you think all of those racehorses that are slaughtered are drug free????

Yes, I am bringing this thread back up.
Investigation 09/21/2012
For all of those who condone this type of abuse and keep insisting that the Commercial Transport Of Equines For Slaughter Regulations are not broken.
The authorities were notified on the spot to act according to the regs, but instead the load was allowed to continue into MX without any REQUIRED actions taken.
Warning: Graphic.

This stuff commonly happens, as evidenced by the Baker conviction (and unpaid fines, still), the 3 Angels accident where authorities let them load them back up and continue to border in spite of violations, etc.
And yet, some pro slaughter people here continue to insist that slaughterhorses are transported "just the same as many show horses".

Yep - those show horses are always shipped in low roof, metal floored trailers - never any head room, matts, or shavings, And stacked in trailers to the point if one goes down all they can do is be trampled by the others... that is how people treat their valuable stock.
And you know, those show people leave the downed horses to be trampled - yep, that is how they are commonly shipped.
