hello all
well.
it appears these memorial fund/scholarships are fiddly things and must be done a certain specific way.Of course, as if it were easy, my lawyers would starve to death ;>
in any event please watch for the news in the future of it. People have asked if it is for my children in specific, that answer is no.
My hope is that childen who want to farm the way he did, can learn how the proper way the first time around and shed the "Daddy done it that'a way" nonsense that has killed so many aspirations of so many kids.
I read this every morning and then I go about my day.
Thank you all
Tamara

With apologies to the COTH legals, anything involving a lawyer will take at least 1.5X longer than if 2 "normal" humans were involved.
Tamara;
how about setting up a bank account we can contribute to so the monies will be ready & waiting once all the i's are dotted & t's crossed?
I will be thinking of you today as will so many of us here.
COTH {hugs} will surround you & yours.

Tamara has received professional advice on this (and not necessarily from me). She is doing what she's been advised to do so that she doesn't get tangled up with the IRS. If you think lawyers are bad, try dealing with The Revenooers. You'll quickly find lawyers, by comparison, are the very souls of clarity and restraint.
Be patient, folks. Things will get done.

Thanks, G - point taken.
Yes, the Tax Guys - the souls of wit and wisdom.....
Once watched DH wave a cancelled check - made out to City Tax Dept - in the face of the local City Tax Guy who came to his shop hunting down supposed non-payment.
Did not faze the asshat a bit.
Asshat did ask to take possession of that check, which DH declined & provided a copy.

Long-time member whose husband was murdered recently.
This is the short "logistics details" thread. She is working on setting up a scholarship fund in his memory, which is why the lawyers are still at work. This thread was created to sort out logistical details from the massive length of the original thread and make them easier to find.
Here is the full details thread.

Tamara says that there should be an update on the agriculture scholarship fund after Oct 22. Those wanting to donate should be able to shortly after that date.

I know this thread is a sticky and doesn't need a "bump" but I just want you to know, Tamara, that we haven't forgotten you even tho the chatter has died down. I hope you are still reading and taking comfort from this thread and others created by COTHers to express their love and support to you and yours. Looking forward to donating to the fund once the details are in next week!
