Red face After 25 years I'm Finally a HO!!!!!!

Its official! After 25 years of praying, hoping, begging, catch riding, busting my ass, I finally have my very own!

The horse I have been leasing all year, Dalton aka "The Big horse," is finally actually mine!

His owner took me out to lunch today to celebrate my birthday and surprised me with a Bill of Sale for 1 Dollar.

I had been planning to buy him eventually, but not today, and it was a great surprise and the best present I have ever gotten.

I signed it and gave her dollar and now finally at 31, I am an offical HO ...and scared sh!tless!

Anyway, had to share my excitement, I know you guys will know exactly how I feel! YAY!!!

Hooray! What a nice gift. Don't be scared. I was scared too when I bought my horse but it was one of the best decisions I have made to date.

Phew. I'm glad to see that you meant Horse Owner...rather than just some ho out there on the street.....

Congrats! If he is eligible I would look into mortality and major medical insurance as it takes a bit of the worry out paying for things that might happen. It is tougher when the horse was so inexpensive but might be doable.

I thought you meant ho, as in skank. Oops
Then I though you meant ho, as in peep ho (Ted the peep ho), or a braiding ho (like me). Oops
I sat there staring at the title for a bit before I put 2 and 2 together and realized HO= Horse Owner. Not skank.

Congrats on being a HO! It's a lot of fun

Congratulations, and what a wonderful gift!

I, too, looked at your title and puzzled for a bit. Unlike these other dirty minded COTHers, I thought you meant Home Owner! But...that just didn't make sense on a horse forum.

Don't be scared--just embrace the idea that now you make all the decisions for your big guy. Insurance is a good thing, takes away a bit of the worry. Have fun!

I guess many of us on here are HO's! We are such a skanky lot!

That surprise part made me go, "d'awwww!" Now MrB is next to me rolling his eyes as I tell him, "just imagine how awesome that would be! D'awwww man I love it!"

Boys. They just don't get it.
