Exclamation Reputable Rescue near Greensboro, NC? (have items to donate!)

I have a varied assortment of horse items that need to find a new home. It's a massively large Rubbermaid trunk full of extra bridle pieces, bits, lunge whips, lunge line, medical supplies, stirrups, buddy stirrups, etc etc. I was hoping to find a (reputable) local shelter that does rehabilitation/training, as a lot of these items are training/riding related. I'm located in Burlington, NC (30 minutes from Greensboro). Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Laura

USERL is in NC and has operations across the state. You can look on their website http://www.userl.org to find a contact closest to you.
BTW, former Elon student! Is that famous old hot dog place (Zac's I think???) still in Burlington?
It's just grass and water till it hits the ground.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out
Hot dogs?? I just moved here a few months ago so I haven't had a chance to check out the local haunts (I'm one exit down from Elon). Guess I'll have to mosey out and look around.

You can check out Red Dog Farm (http://www.reddogfarm.com/) or Safe Haven Equine Rescue (http://www.sherrnc.com/).

Check out Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center.

I am sure they would love your donations.

I second Red Dog Farm. Currently fostering for them....can't say enough good things. They do a good job advertising their horses honestly and try to put as many miles on them as possible before sending out for adoption.

A friend just adopted a lovely little mare through Red Dog and were thrilled with them. Seeing her before and after, I would definitely be inclined to think highly of them, though I have no personal experience with them.

Thank you for the suggestions! (and the dinner invite) I've got a good list so now I'm off to search through more bins and buckets to see what else I can get rid of.
