I have a lovely mare by MCR Cyrano (Calypso I) out of a TB mare. She is older and only has a few babies left in her. I have always wanted a baby from this particular stallion. However his sire is Cor de La Bryere. Is this way too inbred to consider? I would use another mare but I don't have another one lol! I also know the chance of buying a baby by this sire is next to none. The stallion is deceased and no more are on the market. However, I won't breed if it is a bad idea. I don't want a messed up baby either! Any options on line breeding the Corde line?
When breeding Holsteiners, it is almost impossible to have too much Corde blood. He is a half bred, outcross stallion. The fact that the sire of your mare is also out of a TB, you will not have an inbreeding problem. However, without knowing your mare, it is impossible to suggest against a particular stallion only knowing the sire of your mare. This is hardly enough information. I would ask who your mare is approved with. That will matter.
I only know she is registered RPSI. I am trying to find the rest of her papers. This would be a keeper baby though.
Thank you for all of the information
She is a great mare if I got a duplicate of her I would be happy she is a bit small (15.3) but I am short so that is ok- I don't think he throws height I have seen two very small 15.1/15.2 full grown offspring, however, they all jumped the moon!
