What a lovely article! Mr. Salvatore has donated gifts to our company for our regular food drives. I'm part of the committee that organizes the drives, and those who approached him say he is a very big hearted man.

I saw that article the other day--what a wonderful gesture. I felt so terrible when I heard about that accident. Now I have an excuse to drag my husband to Salvatore's (that, and he's never seen the inside of it... omg). He really does seem like an authentically nice guy all-around.

Love the idea of the statue that he's putting in as well, though dear god, that memorial garden is about as Italian a garden as all that statuary can make it! (; (And I say that as someone who was raised Italian and now has 72 garden gnomes.)

I tried not to post but I keep coming back to this thread. I am very happy that Mr. Salvatore is willing to help out. Something keeps bothering me about this accident that killed the horse though. Not being able to comment about the cause of the accident seems odd. Unless it is a criminal investigation why can't the Reserve Deputy comment?

I think an investigation is standard with any police involvement. So is the lack of comment until it is over.

It always sounds so ominous. It could be nothing, it could be something, it could be big.

    Kudos for the generous donor.
