Default photos of Olympic dressage riders wearing helmets!

Look at these photos! Every one of these riders except one is wearing a helmet! Very cool to see so many top riders setting such a great example!

I wonder if any of them will wear a helmet in the competition?

Looking through those pictures, I could finally see what that black stripe was on all the eventers' white breeches the other day! Cavallo really wanted their name out there, huh?

Totally agree. Love seeing everyone in a helmet. Also love all the brown boots and Charlotte is riding in a snaffle with a drop!

Even yellow boots! And boots with laces all the way up! Nice!

Sadly, I'm guessing no one. I hope I'm wrong.

My thoughts exactly. I am guessing many of the riders are sporting helmets during warmups for sponsorship reasons.

    Default Question..

Why the polos with what looks like quilted pads underneath?

I have a pair from Vogel. The laces would take FOREVER to put on/take off, so I also got zippers in the rear.

The laces make the boot fit more adjustable. No more stretching or having them taken in with calf fluctuations! Since I'm on a diet an have two other pairs of tall boots of varying width (!), an adjustable fit was a big consideration for me.

I love my rock star boots! They're modern and classic at the same time!

Even my (non-horsie) husband noticed. I asked him to look at the photos and tell me what he thought. His observations:

    1. The horses all seem to be ashamed of what they're doing (they all have their heads down).

    2. They are all wearing socks.

    3. They are all brown.

    4. They (almost) all have helmets on.

Personally, I love the last picture of Kristy Oatley's rhinestone kangaroo on the cantle of her saddle! Is that competition legal? If so, I'm going to have to figure out what to put on mine....

Canadian riders Ashley Holzer and Jacqueline Brooks have both been wearing helmets in CDI competitions for a while now. I would not be at all surprised to see one or both of them wear a helmet at the Olympics.
