Default You know you have a thoroughbred problem when...

Looking through an older Stallion issue of the Chronicles, in search for a possible warmblood to breed my tb mare to next year. I stop and drool over one stallion in particular and decide that this one is THE one. I read more about him, and guess what. He is a full blooded thoroughbred. I will discontinue my search for a warmblood at this time.

And who is this mysterious gentleman so the rest of us can drool?

Gotta love a good TB. IMO, they're still the best sport horses.

I should have shared, I apologize. This is a 2007 issue of The Chronicles. There is no way I was going to remember his name. It is Orujo De La Galerna and he stood at stud in VA in '07.

That's not a problem, that's just good taste!!

He is a lovely horse, and caught my eye too.

I think we all have a certain type we prefer - I can admire and see the beauty of all horses, all breeds - but always it is the good Thoroughbred horses that make my heart lift up.

not sure why it is a "problem" that you like a TB over a WB stallion.

Ohhhh in love! I actually remember his conformation shot from an older magazine my trainer had! Maybe it was that issue of the Chronicle =) So glad you mentioned him because I'm definitely saving him in my "stallion" bookmarks!

Looks like he is only available with frozen, so does that mean he is in Mexico? Bummer I can't get a registered tb foal by him. Still not crossing him off my list.

I love a gorgeous TB, they are still my favorite breed, hands down!

Check out both the Blood Horse and Thoroughbredtimes stallion registers on line. Many have photos, you may find a stallion in your area.

Thanks sporthorsefilly, I was looking for something that had evented. And there isn't much here in Michigan because we are lacking in tracks. I do have my own tb stallion to breed her to, but I would like to add some other bloodlines.

A little update here - I have a 5yo son of Orujo De La Galerna and cannot say enough good things about him. He is 100% TB (dam evented as well), has a wonderful brain, moves beautifully, lots of scope, super personality and is put together very well. I've only had him about 6 weeks and am very impressed - he looks just like dad!

The deputy was up in Michigan. I know he was up for sale and don't know where he landed but he is quite a nice guy. Was solely a race boy but thumbs up on some of his babies !

How funny, I had asked about this horse a couple of weeks ago…..and was given a dvd yesterday at Windchase……my understanding is he is in MX with Pedro, plenty of frozen in the tank, and was a true ladies ride when he was in residence.

Check out Stanislavsky xx, now standing at Jump Start Farm in KY. Recently approved sBs and NAS, great scores including a 9 for type!
