After reading everyone else's stats, I think I have a bit of a freak.
16.3hh 4 year old Trakehner gelding, about 1100 lbs. last time I taped him. Only have a dressage saddle, so he's in a 22" short girth but could probably go down to a 20". He has some growing to do yet, especially in the width department.
My other boy who is not with me (up at my parents) is on the other extreme. He's a 10 y.o. 17.2hh (or bigger, not exactly sure) Friesian/App cross who is a tank. He wears a 34" dressage girth and has been known to use a girth extender with it on occasion.
Strangely enough, I don't look out of place on either horse.

My 14.2 QH gelding, approximately 900 lbs, wears a 46-48".
With the M. Toulouse anatomic girth and my old short-billeted pony saddle, he wore a 54". That was just... odd.

Had a 17h TB mare as a kid, she wore a 54 girth. As a kid, I though it was her deep chest. I have now a 16.3 h hanovarian secretraiat cross gelding, wears a 50 to 53 inch girth, several different brands.
His name is Airborne - because he usually is!

16.1h Thoroughbred gelding, medium build, naturally pretty muscular, 52" girth when he's in perfect weight.
My tanky 15.1h Appaloosa/QH/TB Alibar wore the same size girth ;^)

I would say 48"-50" is a pretty good 'average' size for most horses... that said...
14.1hh German Riding Pony gelding, about 800# give or take, FIT, wears a 44" but could probably go down to a 42" without issue, we are up to about the fourth billet hole on each side.

Most of my slab-sided TBs went in a 44-48....they ranged in height from 15.3 to 17 hands. I only owned one horse in my life that wore a 52, and he was a 15.2 hand QU/Morgan cross (and that was over 30 years ago).

Girth size - 62" (I must get them custom made LOL)
Breed - Danish WB
Height - 18 hands
Age - 17
Gelding
Girth size - 58"
Breed - TB / Oldenburg
Height - 16 2"
Age - 13
Gelding
But they both probably need to be on a diet.
And my new horse I have no idea because he's not here yet. I sure hope it's around a 56 -58 since I have some really nice ones in that size.

My Saddlbred gelding is 16-1 Pretty refined and narrow bodied but takes an XW tree. He uses a 44 to 48" girth depending on which saddle I have on him. 48 on my county drespri, 44 on my saddle seat cutback.
The friesian mare I ride is about 15-2, kind of on the heavy side of average build for her breed. I use a 52" girth on her with her hunt seat saddle.

Saddle seat saddles tend to have longer billets than hunt seat saddles. The Saddlebreds I work with take anywhere from a 40" girth to a 46" girth. Had a fatty out of the pasture that used a 50" for a while, but now that he is back in shape he uses a 46". For the Hackney Ponies we use 28"-32" girths when they are ridden.

15.2 1/2 ISH gelding, weighs approximately 1150lbs, built like a brick house (as his vet said: "sturdy.") Wears a 52". My saddle has short billets. Needs a new girth actually, and now that the billets have stretched some, will probably get him a 50". Wears a 78" blanket.
16.3 TB gelding, no idea on his weight but he's big, raw, and lanky. Wears a 52" or a 54" depending on his saddle and how fat he feels like being this week. Wears a 82" blanket.
16.2 TB gelding, may he rest in peace, about 1200lbs when fit, built like a Warmblood. Wore a 50", and an 84" rug.

The Inkster is a fit 15.3h TB, weighs 1,200 lbs and needs a 54" girth with a close contact saddle. He is one of those nice old fashioned, good boned, huge heart TB's and takes up a lot of leg!
Rico is a 15.1h TB, 950 lb QH tank type build, wears a 46" girth with a close contact and a 22" (could do with a 20") dressage girth.
