    Default Which Herm Sprenger D-Ring?

I have been wanting to try a HS d-ring on my young mare for a while now and at her most recent dental appt. he suggested I try one as well. There seems to be a few out there these days and just wondering which one you have had the most luck with? Horse has low palate, fleshy mouth, sensitive....hates single joints and snaffles! I have only used the KK in the past but now there is the WH Ultra, KK Ultra, and the Dynamic Ultra.

Do you have any friends with these that you can borrow and test drive? I have a KK Ultra that my sensitive-mouthed TB loves but I didn't try the others.

I have had a loose ring KK ultra and a D ring WH for my similar sounding TB mare - low palate and picky about bits, so we need a thin bit to not gag her! She HATED the WH - the roller in the middle was too thick in her mouth and she just hated it with a passion. I debated getting the KK ultra D, but I ended up with the RS Dynamic D-ring which is basically the KK Ultra with curved ends on the mouthpiece and only 14mm thick - she LOVES it! The only thing is that it's not quite a big hunter D-ring, it's like a cross between an eggbutt and a d, but the mare LOVES it. She is better in the regular KK ultra than the WH, but the Dynamic is by far her favorite bit.

I love the Dynamic RS w/ KK Ultra.

I do have the D ring in the regular KK Ultra, but I'd prefer to get another one in the Dynamic RS (which is also a KK Ultra- but the Dyanamic has the curved mouthpieces)

LOVE these bits! I actually normally use the Eggbutt Dynamic RS

My sensitive TB mare loves her WH Ultra.

Bit of Britain has a rental program for trying HS bits: http://www.bitofbritain.com/Herm_Spr...gram_s/357.htm
