    Default Bad SyFy movies

We watched "Supershark" a couple weeks ago and got hooked. So incredibly awesomely terrible. "Megapiranha" was also pretty good, as was "Piranhaconda." "Bigfoot" was tolerable; I particularly enjoyed Alice Cooper showing up to perform on a small folding stage in a field in South Dakota with twelve people in attendance. "Jersey Shore Shark Attack" just didn't seize the campiness enough, I think, though I did enjoy it for my general Jersey Shore addiction.

Anyone else love the terribleness of SyFy originals? Have faves to recommend?

I love, love, love the campy SiFy channel movies!!!!

My husband is good, long time friends with an actor that now does some of them. I keep trying to get him to ask "Brad, how did you go from being in Always to those giant, mutant shark movies?"

I particularly love the mutant ocean/lake dwelling creature ones!

    Lake Placid anyone....

Don't know. I don't get the SyFy channel. Oh, did you mean bad "SciFi" movies?

Along the lines of campy SciFi movies, actually more horror, I like "Tremors" and then there's "Critters" (the first one ).

Well, my all time faves remain 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' and 'The Blob.' Probably 'cause I don't watch sci fi, much.

    Night of the Lepus

hands down the best bad scifi movie in my opinion!

especially the 'music' played when the rabbits are coming.

    So littleum, basically, just look for anything with "vs" in the title? (;

But yeah, I was talking specifically SyFy originals, not bad sci-fi movies in general... but I love bad movies as a whole. I remember watching "Plan 9" and "Killer Shrews" as a kid late at night...

On the bad sci-fi movie front, look for "Blood Freak." '70s Christian anti-marijuana horror film, in which the motorcycling hero ends up being forced to smoke pot. This leads to a downward slide into living in a commune and working on a turkey farm, which is being run by a mad scientist, and he somehow gets turned into a wereturkey that kills pot smokers because he's mad for cannabis-laced blood. Oh, and the narrator is chain-smoking the entire time, and at the end, goes into a coughing fit so bad he can barely finish his monologue.

    Ice Spiders. Snow Beast. Sharktopus.

Anything where giant creatures have their own theme song and jump out of the ocean to eat airplanes/helicopters/etc.

My mom and I get together almost every Saturday night to watch the bad SyFy movies. (Except the weekends when they are showing real movies that actually were at some point shown in actual theatres...those aren't nearly as much fun.) Granted, this proves neither of us has much of a life, but we have a lot of fun!

BF's favorite SyFy original is Mansquito. He's never actually SEEN the movie-- he just likes to yell, "Mansquito!", then try to bite me while making a high-pitched whining noise and flapping his arms.

My SO and I watched "Supershark" as well.

"Megashark vs Crocosaurus" and "Sharktopus" have been equally awful.

I can only take those movies in small doses. . .and only when I am absolutely bored out of my mind.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Sharktopus... that was great, too. I didn't know all scientists were hot twentysomething chicks in bikinis.

That only applies to Chemical and Biological Sciences.
