Heather, have you addressed your concerns to anyone in Germany? PLEASE send an email to Mareile, and Katrin, and Emily, and also copy in Heiner Kanowski and Saskia Albrecht. The more they hear from us, the more they will begin to understand the situation. There is only so much Holly can do - I think sometimes they think she is "that funny little lady from Florida who comes into the office fussing all the time."

ok, well obviously there are issues that have been going on for a while that i know nothing about - but i don't think that GOV could stop a group of breeders from forming a group of like minded individuals to promote their breed of choice...?
anyway, if i were a breeder that is what i would be doing..... especially if i didn't like the official website....

Yes and no. I'll agree with hluing, we pay membership fees and the NA division should represent breeders. Getting a club together, excepted for the French version as we do represent a minority, is duplicate work. What's the purpose of the NA branch if it doesn't serve its members?
Might as well cut the NA branch and deal directly with the Verband in that case! Just as we do in Canada with the Hanoverian Verband...

i think you are missing my point...
take for example the Ca HAN society - they are not in lieu of the HAN verband - but just a group of like minded individuals promoting their breed of choice. I assume they all are still part of the HAN verband?
anyway, it was just a suggestion....

Does anyone have a contact email for the person in charge of inspections? I followed the direction on the website and emailed the form it indicated for the two mares and three babies I am having inspected at Keenridge. I have heard NOTHING. Not a conformation email, not a thank you for sending in your paperwork, nada! I have tried calling and there is not even a message machine (I've called 3-4 times a day). I'm worried that they have not acknowledged any of my emails. Any suggestions?

Contact Emily Yeomans at emily@oldenburghorse.com for anything paperwork related... Or at least, she'll know who to reach.

I have been following this discussion and saw Holly last weekend. She is almost sick over this whole situation. Please send emails and update your news. Lets be heard. Someone posted that the ponies are now listed, but I don't see them on the GOV home page although I could pull it up on the link the poster provided. Where is the Weser-Ems stallion e book?

OK, thanks mbm. Takes a bit of work to find it. On the "news" page there is a photo of the stallion ebook and you would have thought that the Weser-Ems stallion book would be right under it or that the ponies would be included in the one book just like the hard copy.

You are right, it is a German business. And, like all businesses, it is trying to survive in a very challenging economic climate. That means decisions are sometimes made that are not understood, or acceptable, to some parties. And it is their choice to do what they feel is in their best interests - i.e., move on to another "company" they feel better meets their needs.
We are straying off topic, but I will point out that since your comment was in response to my statement about my employer, I am going to add that my employer is owned by a Dutch/British conglomerate. And PLENTY of U.S. companies and individuals use my employer's products - in fact, I daresay most large insurance companies in NA use some of our products, as do many of the nation's largest retailers.
Also can't resist asking this: when was the last time you bought an article of clothing that was actually made in America by an American-owned corporation?

While I understand you wanting to spend your money here MRF, I don't quite understand what's the problem with the registry being a business.
Of course it is, it is foolish to think otherwise. We're ALL trying to make money. Let's not kid ourselves. We're not Bill Gates and even he, had to make his money at some point, didn't he?

That is why it is short sited of them to treat thier US customers poorly. We can take our money elsewhere to where there is better customer service. That being said, I don't want to have to do that. I have been one of the first Weser-Ems breeders in the US and I am proud of that. However, I am getting tired of the lack of service and it is getting harder and harder for me to encourage my mare owners to use them. In realty, my breeding program is a business as well, and I will have to weight the pros and cons to determine if they remain the best choice for MY business.
