Jingles! I was at the vet once when someone came in with their dog, who they'd accidentally run over. It was heartbreaking. Sounds like your dog is doing relatively well, so that's great! I hope she keeps improving.

Lovey peed & pooped on her own today!!! YEA! She gets to come home tomorrow. I can't wait. I'll have to keep her out in the shop since she can't do the stairs into the house & she hates the house anyway. The shop is air conditioned & she'll have a big fluffy bed to lay on.
A great big thank you to everyone who has been praying & jingling for her. She is one cool dog.
Also so sorry to hear that so many of you have experienced the same sort of thing with your dogs. Hope they are all okay too!
Thanks again everyone!

I just read this, sounds like she'll be ok. Same thing happened to me several years ago. Accidents happen.

Sending more jingles!!
I accidently hurt my dog once, too.
I was cleaning up some bricks from a wall I'd had knocked down. To do it, I was throwing them into a wheelbarrow. He walked past at just the right time to get hit on the head with a brick. He yelped so much I was convinced that he was dying and rushed him to the vet. Vet kept him in overnight and released him the next day.
I felt awful, but it was a total accident and he's 100% fine now. (And has forgiven me totally.)

Oh my gosh Kookicat! That sounds awful. Poor dog & poor you.
I just got Lovey home. She is walking but not using her right hind very well. Unfortunately at times she will knuckle over on the right hind foot. Not good neurological sign. I'm praying that it's just that she had such trauma that she might have swelling & damage to the area that needs time to heal.
At least she is wagging her tail at times, peeing & pooping. All great signs. Her eye does not look good & I can tell that she is blind or partially blind in it by the way she has to turn her head to look at me. So sad.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It means a lot. I've been feeling horrible about this. Poor Lovey. If I were here I'd bite me, not wag my tail at the dummy that ran me over. Animals are so wonderful.

I still feel guilty about it, but it was a total accident and I do my best to remember that.
I bet your girl is just really sore and that's why she doesn't want to use her leg. There will be loads of swelling and bruising, and as we all know, that hurts.

I've actually found a DVM in Tallahassee (about 1/2 hour from me) that is a certified canine physical therapist. I'm leaving Lovey with her starting next week until I get back from the NAJYRC in Kentucky. She'll get about 2 weeks of good therapy at a nice place. I hope it helps.
She was walking better tonight but still doesn't want to go far. It's just so sad as this girl loves to run.
I'm still praying that she'll be 100% again some day. Poor thing.
Thanks again for the prayers & jingles.
