Pomeranian. But I vote to petition the AKC to create the American Marshmallow breed!
I realize that I'm generalizing here, but as is often the case when I generalize, I don't care. ~ Dave Barry

How old is it? I'd say Pom or Samoyed.

Comparing to these, I'd say it's a superior in cuteness factor to the others white pom

My cat would call it an appetizer! Nothing that small would ever make it around my house. Four large dogs and six cats!

White mini-pom.
And Poms are cute as heck shaved too:

I'm not a fan of little dogs but I've always liked Poms. Around here they're just wildlife bait though, so I have larger dogs.
People up the street from me had a hawk grab their yorkie and people across the street had a fisher eat their chihuahua. It's odd having a dog so small weasels and birds eat them. The teeny ones are more pocketbook in the city dogs rather than rural farm dogs.

I had this calendar.... so adorable. Makes me want to have a really really old compliant pom!

Nah, they have actually been around a while.
now, 10 years or so ago there was this TV vet who had 'Mini Munchkins'
They looked like a mini pom with a shaved butt!
That this lady proclaimed this kind of dog, at about 2 pounds was the ideal pet for a child....not to mention they sold for 5000 dollars...and yes, that is three zeros.

Regarless if they've "been around for awhile," the short answer is "yes." Because people want smaller and smaller purse dogs, we now have miniature Poms and teacup Yorkies.

My vote is for some type of Pomeranian - or a stuffed toy. Honestly - have you seen how realistic some stuffed animal toys are these days?
