Default Hunter trials field - Southern Pines folks?

Random question, but I think there's enough of a North Carolina contingent here that someone might know - are there xc obstacles on the hunter trials field year-round? Is it baby-baby type stuff or would it be worth going out to play at BN/N?

And does anyone know the contact info to arrange schooling or is it part of the Moss Foundation now?

    TIA!

Get in touch with Lordhelpus. Her farm is right next to the hunter trial field.

The hunter trial field is a great place to go play over xc obstacles. There is no ditch or water but there is small double bank and lots of obstacles ranging in size from maiden to near novice size. The field is also large enough that you can have a nice gallop.

There is no reservation or fee, just an unwritten rule regarding common courtesy (i.e. don't leave a pile of trailer shavings, clean up after yourself, etc). I'm fairly certain that any motorized vehicles such as ATV's or minibikes are discouraged. You can park your rig along the tree line next to the dirt road.

It's such a fun little outing, especially for a greenie; very quiet and peaceful.

Bring along some water for yourself and your horse, there isn't any there that I'm aware of. Have fun!

The hunter trial field is open to anyone anytime except for 1 day in March when it is actually used for....The Hunter Trials!

Yes, the jumps are great for BN-N. There are jumps in the big field plus more in the woods along side the field.

I would not go alone because there might not be anyone around if you needed help.

    Have fun!!

Excellent, thank you! I have a timid beast who really just needs to get out more, so that sounds perfect.
