    Default The glass horse educational cd

    The thread on adjustment time for going barefoot is piling up posts. Which got me googling Dave Duckett, which lead to... Anyway I found this CD on horse anatomy and wondering if anyone has it and what their comments were on it.

    I was wondering if it would help in understanding how to evaluate different shoeing options.

    If not, can any farriers here recommend something similar but more specific to shoeing?

    It is a good visual reference for anatomy - peeling the layers. Though IMO a poor substitute for a wet lab dissection.

    To evaluate shoeing options you need two things;

    1. A good foundation in functional anatomy.
    2. A good foundation in applied physics.

    Most people fall short on item 2.

    Without it you can forget about trying to understand Duckett's material.
