    Rolex...Burghley...Luhmuhlen

This is a CCI**** horse and a CCI**** rider.

And CCI**** eventing is not a dressage contest.

It sounds like they make some good improvement on their own dime but how much more could they have made with a little team support.
Anyway, enough of the rant, congrats again, good luck over night, and hope tomorrow goes well.

    Thanks Jer

I just got off the phone with Colleen and she told me there was a lot of things she would have done diffrent on XC and she had some very ugly jumps but she was very happy and it was worth it being two months in England and now just to get through Jogs. Oh and the vets only kept Shiraz for ten minutes after the run

Shiraz's dressage was better than Mark Todd's and Major Milestone. But those two withdrew before XC. Major Milestone has been mentioned often as one of Todd's two Olympic possibilities, now that Landvision is injured.

So she can take some pride that she beat one of the very best in the world.

I do agree about the Insider's Club and the patent biases of the selectors in the pre Olympic run up where training and training grants are concerned.

    Ditto on that

But I'm a nobody. Just hate to see us leaving one of our best 4* rider/jumper and consistent rider/jumper out of the mix.
You are certainly are not a nobody..you know the insiders very well and we all know its just as much a political kiss-up as much as athletic prows and flavor of the month game.....

Maybe the selectors will finally realize that even the best Dressage rider has to jump all the jumps in our sport. So selectors and Chef - eat this!

    Dear Everybody,
This horse and this rider have been ignored too long. SHAME. When you consider they wanted a pair that consisted of alame *3 horse and some one in the sport 21,22 months over this pair....makes you wonder what country they are looking out for.

2 rails for Colleen Rutledge, which moved her down a spot.

Horse looked fab and had tons of jump.

Lucinda Fredericks just jumped a clear round with the TALLEST hind boots I've ever seen on the horse! They went all the way up to the bottom of the hock. Anyone know about anything like this? And why you'd do it? I know there is a maximum weight for hinds, I never thought about a maximum height for them.

Hooray for Colleen and Shiraz. Marylanders are proud of her. I hope the selectors are embarrassed to have not included her in the winter training group.

Very interesting final results. I do not think I would want to be in the shoes of the Australian selectors today.

To me the most impressive result in the jumping phases was Lalia della Nave who moved up from 35th after dressage to 12th. Shiraz moved up one notch from yesterday. The dressage coefficient spreadsheet is almost done, so we'll see who, if anyone, got the "dressage bump up"--if anyone cares.

BUT if you run a 4* in the middle of June is 6 weeks long enough time off before the next 4* at the end of July?

Looking at the Results, than one thing jumps out, the quality.

A 27.8 wins the CIC and a 36 the CCI, kinde scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry

of course it is.....in the eyes of many. Don't tell me you will be surprised to see some combinations from Luhmuhlen in London on 6 weeks time??!!

    Well done, Colleen!

(I suspect that when all the team dust settles, she'll feel some satisfaction in not having been associated with them.)

Michael Jung's dressage score in the CIC3* was in the 80's. To be precise, the average was 81.7. But one judge scored him with an 86--the German judge to be precise. Now that IS scary.

I've finished the Luhmuhlen dressage coefficient spreadsheet. Without it, Lucinda Fredericks would have finished fifth. Dibo would have finished 2nd, Calico Joe 3rd, ODT Sonas Rovatio 4th, Out of Africa Two 6th, Armada 7th, Koyuna Sun Dancer 8th, Rutherglen 9th, Wild Lone 10th and Inonothing 11th.

This is just the top ten, but it's in the top ten where the coefficient has its biggest effect.

The prize money each rider took home was significantly affected. I suppose I could do a column for amount won to show just how much.

Charlotte Agnew and Out of Africa Two came 5th in their first CCI****.

Ms. Agnew is 24 years old; her horse is a self-produced 12 year-old homebred by Welton Apollo and out of her father's hunter.

    Very cool.
