    Default Which is more marketable?

Another thread got my mind to thinking ...which is more marketable, a World Class mover or a consistent All-Around competitor??

And do you think it's the same in the 'western world' as well as the 'english world'??

    It depends.

Are you talking a show horse or a general family horse?

Are you marketing to world class competition or open show people?

The mover would be marketable to the top levels of the show ring. But would probably not be marketable to the family who wants a general riding horse.

The all arounder, might be marketable to the upper level show world but would be more marketable to the open/entry level competitor.

I'm talking a show horse ... APHA, AQHA, etc.

I remember one person commenting on how their horse may get beat on the rail, but he cleaned up on the all-around awards.

Which, if you look at the Top 10 youth and amt. horses, many times it's the same names ... horses that may not be out of the most popular bloodlines --but have stayed sound and good minded, year after year.

While on the other end ... the futurity horses --everyone wants a specific bloodline, or you will see them do good for a year or two and then you never hear anymore about them...

So, in today's economy ... which do you think is more prevelant?
