    Question Anyone Had This Happen?

My maiden mare was bred with frozen semen 16 days ago. On the ultrasound today a pregnancy was found but it was 6mm and should be 16mm to 17mm. The vet is not too hopeful. Has anyone had this happen? If so what was the outcome. Thank you.

My experience is a The gelding is 4 this year. she was bred with fresh and check around day 15-16. Vet was like well good news is there is a black dot, bad news very small and irregular. Doubtful to maintain. Decided to ride it thru. 5 week check showed a heart beat, but still small and abnormal. Born healthy and good sized at 338 days - now almost 17 hands

Denise, I also have had it go both ways. Small embryo grew into a BIG healthy colt and another gone at 60 days

Fingers and toes crossed for Cobrah!!

Thanks for the good thoughts. Her Mother will get a preg check mid next week so Cobrah will get another ultrasound then. Wouldn't it be wonderful if both Mother and daughter are preg. I am keeping a happy face but know I have a chance of a bad outcome also. I won't be breeding either one back if they aren't preg so I could possibly have a no foal year
