They were busy guys. Heck, Mr. SA even found himself a lunch date when I abandoned him for too long!

I love the way Hunter's Rest made us all feel welcome and at home. The first thing she did was turn over the keys to her tractor And I thought it was funny the time Mr. SA came "home" to find the chickens had gotten into the mudroom and trashed the place. He claimed some day he was going to write a book about our hunting excursion. He was shaking his head and telling stories for months.

We are having a Fox Hunting Pony Club camp at Red Rock Hounds on July 30-August 3rd. On the 3rd we will have a mock hunt. We are in Reno, Nevada if anyone is around and would like to stop in (or has a kid that wants to try it out)! It will be way more relaxed than our normal hunting, and it would be a great intro!

Oooh, ooh...a west coast trip? I don't know if it's in the budget for this year, but perhaps I can plan for next year. But I've seen some of the pics from Red Rock, and I've always had the idea that the hunt is fast and challenging. Is there room for a hunting newbie in the leisure field, Belmont?
Maybe an east coaster would like to make a trip with me next year, or a west coaster join me there?

Hmmm...I've been re-reading Wilfred LeBlanc's posts about his experiences hunting with Red Rock hounds. While he describes wonderful and exciting days, it sounds as though it would be well beyond my hunting abilities. And the description is of a territory that would not seem to lend itself to car following, unless perhaps on a 4-wheeler!

Well, we'll see how much I improve in a year's time

OK ladies, tell me I am not crazy but I just brought this up with DH and he said if it will make you happy we'll go!!!!!!!

So now I will be having tons of questions to ask because I know nothing In fact, I don't know which questions to ask. So post or pm me so I don't offend anyone. (I can deal with making a fool of myself, that's pretty much par for the course.)

Note to self: be sure to ride at least 4 days a week. And work on 2point.

Re: tally slow, not being part of the thrusters' group, etc. -- N.B. -- Riders in the galloping group usually see NOTHING other than the bobbing butt of the rider in front of them. They do not see the landscape, they do not see the hounds, they do not see the fox, they do not see the big picture.
They're worried about their horse running off, the big jump that's coming up, not falling, not passing the master, not falling in a groundhog hole full-tilt.
The third field? We see it all, and then some.
Plus, we have better cookies in back.

I've confirmed the bluegrass group (five pieces plus my NY friend on the mandolin plus another rhythm guitar!) so we're close to nailing down the Sept. 15 weekend for our dates.

How do you think the future Mr. MajesticThundor would feel if we honeymooned at HR instead of the beach? We're scheduled to be away in North Carolina that weekend! I will have to bring him out once though, he would love it! He took to the bassett pack like a fish to water!

I can't say enough great things about HR: She is lovely, welcoming, and keeps great company! I came home from Spring hunt in a blissful, exhausted state.
