Default What would you like to see covered in a Western magazine?

So I’m currently interning for a fairly popular Western lifestyle magazine and I’m noticing that a lot of stories and ideas get recycled issue after issue. We have a pitch meeting coming up, and I’d love to offer some fresh material.

What do you, great COTH Western minds, want to read about in a magazine? Any issues you want covered? People you think deserve mention?

Hopefully no one interprets this as akin to those ‘do my horse-themed research project for me’ posts…

Western Horseman pretty much does the job for me. Wide variety of current topics covered in a sensible manner, not foo-foo stuff. Equus in comparison, is like kiddy first reader books, don't use many BIG, horse oriented words!

I have been getting Western Horseman magazine for MANY years, can go back and pickup any old one to reread, always learn something from it. Newer magazines of various names, not so much. Really dumbed down, so mostly a waste to read because they just skim the topic. Could be that is the kind of audience they have to appeal to.

it would interesting to show western riders that their horses can willing do other tasks.... just because its a Western Horse doesn't mean it cannot be versatile
