    Here's my boy..

Grande Moon Shadow ISR sport pony colt by Loafer's Lodge Spring Ahead out of the Grande Saber mare Grande Impression

I wasn't there..he seemed to move nicely..had a bang on the shin on before the show and ribboned. The great shot was taken by Kathryn Southard.

What happened to the program? No breeding for the HB classes?

Alas, the entry blank didn't have the required spaces for the pedigrees, so in order to get it in the program you had to either write it in, or type it separately and submit. Horrible, and everyone was talking about it. Many did, in fact submit their information (thank heavens!).

I have most of the information if anyone needs it and all of the results.

Hats off to stallion Land's End Monarch, bred by Nancy Reed and now owned by Richard Taylor. He is a young stallion and his first foal crop are now yearlings and being shown. They were outstanding and I'm sure made their daddy proud!

A Land's End Monarch won the Yearling Colt/Gelding Class
A Land's End Monarch won the Yearling Filly/Mare Class
The Same yearling filly was Filly /Mare Champion
AND, the same filly was overall Best Young Pony

Land's End Monarch can also lay claim to winning the Get of Sire Class with the two yearling class winners.

Congratulations to "Julia", owned by Dr. Steward Kohler and shown by Richard Taylor.

A big Congratulations to Nancy Reed, not only as the breeder of Land's End Monarch, but the breeder of the colt/gelding winner of the Two Year Old Colt/Gelding class and handled by Ray Francis.

That same pony, Land's End Balanchine, went on to be Champion Colt/Gelding.

Congratulations to Locke Kelly, owner (and breeder I'm betting) of the Hunter Pony Foal class winner. No name listed in the program.

Thanks Randee. I love seeing the results, but do miss not finding the sire/dam. I am glad you explained why.

It was completely insane that Devon (of all shows except for maybe Upperville) didn't have that on the entry blank. Here's betting they won't be doing THAT again!

I do have all of the results should anyone want to know anything specific.

The foal winner is named Pine Creek's Holy Smokes and is owned and bred by Locke Kelly. Gwinn Kent not only won the 2 yo filly class but her other three ponies were second in their classes. She had a terrific day. Very good turnout considering the Pony Hunter Breeding classes have been very light this year.

The breeding classes at Devon this year were the lightest I've ever seen them. There were only 12 or 13 that showed in the Two Year Old Filly Class and the Three Year Old Colt/Gelding Class was even smaller (10).

Saying that, it should be noted that those two classes are typically the smallest of the day as the numbers drop as the youngsters get older, but this year in particular they were (as I have stated) the smallest in recent memory.

Will be very interesting to see what Upperville brings to the table as those classes are normally very large.

I'm so thrilled that Julia won BYP! I thought at Lexington that she looked super! One of the best pony yearlings I've ever seen so I'm thrilled for the win!

I did find the official photographers website with the photos from Devon, by looking at the Devon Horse Show website.

Unfortunately no names attached to the photos, so you have to know horses and riders/handlers by sight.

Kathryn Southard took tons of photos (she is not the official photographer but an excellent one and friends of so many of us) and usually posts them on her facebook page or tags the owner or handler in them.
