Bring forth unto me, the ugly horse. Leave behind the pretty dress, for of the two I only have need for but one, and it possesses it's own will whether we be stood over air vents and nearest industrial fans or on quietest meadows.

one pretty house dress for summer makes a whole lot more sense than looking at an ugly horse

No such thing as a truly ugly horse. They can all be improved by the right work and care.

Dress. Although, I've never seen an ugly horse, so I think it's a trick question.

    Horse!

An ugly horse is still a horse and a pretty dress is still a dress!

Plus - I feel prettiest while on a horse of any kind and have managed, on occasion, to feel ugly in a pretty dress. Plus, it's much easier to ruin a pretty dress than to ruin any sort of horse (at least for me - I'm tough on clothes, and easy on the ponies).

The above post is an opinion, just an opinion. If it were a real live fact it would include supporting links to websites full of people who already agreed with me.

    You never did know Reno.
He had Miller's disease, "Big Head" disease, where he grew with an unbalanced calcium/phosphorus diet and his head was misshapen and twice the size it should be, a real Mr Potato Head.

He was also my best, most trustworthy kid horse in a string of 30 in my barn.

He was so "different", even newbies would ask if he was all horse or a cross with a hippo.
There really are some ugly horses you can't change out there.
Not that anyone cared, he was a dopey, saint to all and that makes up for much.

I take the Renos of this world over any dress any day.

There are some really ugly ones out there. No care, work or training can improve them. Or should they be saved or rescued.

Watched a woman at a barn that had an HYPP-positive horse that she adopted from a rescue. She didn't know, rescue said unpapered QH. Only a blind eye couldn't see, the Impressive in the horse. The horse was suffering and had to be on a special diet, but still suffered. She wasn't supposed to put the horse down or allowed to sell. The "rescue" refused to support her financially to help with special diet.. The rescue said they didn't have space to take the horse back. Lost track of what happened to the horse or the woman when we changed barns. Only options were to dump it back at the rescue in the middle of the night.... or let it have a seizure, call the vet in and have the vet say it had to be put down.

There are ugly horses or horses that shouldn't be "saved".

Since I don't wear a dress. A nice pair of Wranglers over an "Ugly Horse".

Well, with my old, overfed, ethnically-diverse-in-all-the-wrong-ways body, the pretty dress option doesn't exist, so I'll take the ugly horse.

The case that 7HL mentions isn't a case of ugly in the aesthetic sense, but I'd still take the horse, find a sympathetic vet, and put it out of it's misery, rescue be damned. And then console myself with some retail therapy--probably at a tack shop .

How bout neither- don't want an ugly horse or a pretty dress- Gimme a good pair of jeans though.
And, there are plenty of horses that I find visually unappealing and wouldn't own- Horses cost too much money for me to have one that when I look out in my field every day I say "damn you are ugly"

I don't even like wearing dresses, so give me the horse.

Some horses are just "so ugly, they're cute" anyway.

and even if they aren't, depending on how sentimental you are, if the horse proves less than useful in other areas....

the ugly horse can feed the hounds and (or at the very least) it's hide can be made into chaps or a coat or even a dress.....

Rescue my ass! A proper rescue would know a HYPP horse and would not adopt one out without full disclosure. And she was not allowed to put the horse down?? Either the woman got scammed or that was a rescue run by fruitbats.

As for the ugly horse question... well, define ugly.
Yes, I smell like a horse. No, I don't consider that to be a problem.
